För att erhålla enriktig föreställning om vidden af detta sekels vetenskapligaoch mekaniska verksamhet, hvad blott Amerika beträffar, egdeman att taga detta lands patentbyrå i närmare skärskådande,då man skulle finna, att antalet utfärdade patent på nya upp-finningar är omkring 20,000 om året.
