Description
Português: Desenho de uma estela funerária romana encontrada em Santa Luzia, no concelho de Tavira, em Portugal. Fazia provavelmente parte da grandiosa cidade antiga de Balsa. O texto foi interpretado por José Leite de Vasconcellos como «D(iis) M(anibus) S(acrum). Catvrico [L]vpato vixi annvs... menses IIII, dies VIII. Caturica Agateme[r] marito benemerenti po[s]uit.» - Consagrado aos Deuses Manes. Caturico Lupato viveu (?) anos, quatro meses e oito dias. [esta estela] foi colocada por Caturica Agatemer ao seu merecedor marido. Esta gravura foi extraída da obra "Religiões da Lusitania na parte que principalmente se refere a Portugal, publicada por José Leite de Vasconcellos em 1913, e disponibilizada pelo portal Archive.org.
English: Drawing of an roman funerary stele found in Santa Luzia, in the municipality of Tavira, in southern Portugal. This stele was likely part of the large ancient city of Balsa. The text was interpreted by José Leite de Vasconcellos as «D(iis) M(anibus) S(acrum). Catvrico [L]vpato vixi annvs... menses IIII, dies VIII. Caturica Agateme[r] marito benemerenti po[s]uit.» - Consecrated to the Manes Gods. Caturico Lupato lived (?) years, four months and eight days. [this stele] was placed by Caturica Agatemer to his deserving husband. This image was originally published on the 1913 book "Religiões da Lusitania na parte que principalmente se refere a Portugal, by the archaeologist José Leite de Vasconcellos, available on Archive.org.
