Description
Português: Idealizada na estética vitoriana, a Estação foi construída sob a supervisão do engenheiro James Ford, com matéria-prima vinda da Inglaterra. Seu propósito era abrigar a nova Companhia São Paulo Railway, empresa natural da Bretanha. Na época ela também foi utilizada para o transporte do café, então o principal produto brasileiro, para o porto de Santos. Seu relógio foi, desde o início, um ponto de referência para que todos mantivessem seus horários ajustados.
