| Description |
English: Jominy test: a 100 mm long cylinder is heated above A3 (austenitization) and quenched at one side by a water jet. The quenching vs to the distance to cooled side (thus vs the cooling speed) is evaluated by Rockwell hardness. The spherical prints on the flat (right) symbolize the marks of the Rockwell test
Français : Essai Jominy : un cylindre de 100 mm de long est chauffé au dessus de A3 (austénitisation) et trempé à une extrémité par un jet d'eau. On estime la trempe en fonction de la distance à l'extrémité refroidie (donc en fonction de la vitesse de refroidissement) par une mesure de dureté Rockwell. Les empreintes sphériques sur le méplat (droite) symbolisent les marques de l'essai Rockwell. |
