Los lectores que lo desearen, pueden consultar para la biogra-fía de este hijo ilustre de la Montaña, tanto la Galería biográfica de generales demarina, escrita por el Almirante D. Francisco de Paula Pavía y Pavía, como laobra titulada Marinos ilustres de la provincia de Santander de los señores D. JoséAntonio y D. Alfredo del Río (Santander, i 882), y los Hijos ilustres de la provinciade Santander, Estudios biográficos, por D. Enrique de Leguina.—Barcena de Cicerose halla situada en terreno desigual y sobre las mismas aguas de la bahía de San-toña, confinando con Escalante, el mar, Cicero y Ambrosero; el censo provisionalde 1887 arroja en este pueblo 184$ habitantes. c <2
