Description
Español: El Escudo de Armas del Estado Anzoátegui, lleva en su campo dos cuarteles; el de la parte superior es de color rojo y el de la parte inferior de color azul. Por sobre el cuartel superior nace un sol despidiendo vivísimos rayos que sirven al Escudo de resplandeciente aureola, como demostrando que el Estado demora al Oriente de la República.

En el fondo del cuartel superior y en todo el centro, se destaca una fortaleza; por ella se asoma un águila con las alas abiertas, mirando de derecha a izquierda, y a ambos lados sendos pedazos de cadena situados en forma vertical. Esta fortaleza es el símbolo de la Casa Fuerte donde corrió tanta sangre de mártires por el triunfo de la libertad; el águila que la cubre con sus soberanas alas, emblema de heroísmo, y de los pedazos de cadena indican el término de la esclavitud. En el cuartel inferior aparece de izquierda a derecha un toro de color blanco corriendo por la pampa, como patentizando la riqueza de los llanos orientales, donde culmina el desarrollo de la cría. Detrás del escudo hay dos cañones cruzados en forma de un aspa, cuyas cuatro extremidades descansan sobre dos ramas de olivo, que cruzadas parten de abajo y rodean el Escudo por ambos lados solamente. Las dos extremidades inferiores de los cañones están entrelazadas por una cinta azul. Esto simboliza el triunfo de las armas republicanas y el imperio de la paz.

Este escudo es el mismo del antiguo Estado Barcelona y fue adoptado por Decreto Ejecutivo el 9 de septiembre de 1933.
