English: Descripción: Escudo partido. Primero de plata, un león rampante de sable). Segundo, de oro, el olivo arrancado de sinople, sostenido de ondas de azur y plata. Al timbre Corona Real cerrada.
Significado: El león de sable figura en el escudo de la familia Valenzuela, que fundó su mayorazgo sobre estas tierras. El olivo es la fuente de riqueza de la localidad, y las ondas representan las aguas mineromedicinales del municipio. Alfonso de Ceballos-Escalera es el autor de este escudo. |
