Description
Deutsch: Schnellidentifikation von Escherichia coli, basierend auf dem Enzym β-D-Glucuronidase. Probe Nr. 7 (zweite von rechts) ist E. coli, erkennbar an der Fluoreszenz im UV-Licht (366 nm). Das im Test-Kit enthaltene künstliche Substrat 4-Methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glucuronid (MUG) wird durch das Enzym gespalten, dabei wird 4-Methylumbelliferon (MU) frei, welches fluoresziert.
English: Rapid identification of Escherichia coli, based on the enzyme β-D-Glucuronidase. Sample no. 7 (second from right) is E. coli, indicated by the fluorescence in UV light (366 nm). The artificial substrate 4-methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glucuronide (MUG) within the test kit is degraded by the enzyme to form the fluorescent product 4-methylumbelliferone (MU).
