Summary
[edit]DescriptionErzurum Lala Mustafa Paşa mosque in 2011 8510.jpg |
English: A notice on site explains, tranmslated: LALA PASHA MOSQUE
The building located in the City Center was actually established as a social complex. The Palace and School buildings of the Social Complex were demolished, but the Mosque and the Bath have survived to the present day. The Mosque was built by Lala Mustafa Pasha in 1562. It is accepted that the mosque was built by Mimar Sinan. The building, which was built without a courtyard, belongs to the group of "Central Planned" buildings in terms of its worship area. The main dome in the middle is carried by four large pillars. There are half-cross vaults on four sides. The minaret in the northwestern corner of the mosque, which has a five-eyed narthex in the north, was kept short due to regional and tectonic features. On the interior and exterior window pediments of the mosque, there are tile panels in the underglaze technique, most of which have been destroyed. |
