Town Hall and in 2023 here is the Nagykanizsa District Court of the Zalaegerszeg Regional Court. On the first floor installed a wooden statue of Stephen I of Hungary (2000, woodcarver Csávás Csaba) Once a restaurant, once a Law House. Here, in the former 'Salt House Garden' part of the square then called Grain's market, Pál Neusiedler, restaurateur and butcher, established his summer restaurant called Green Tree Garden in 1863. In 1872, Gyula Exner, a photographer from Pécs, moved to Nagykanizsa for the early summer months. For his work, he built his Photo Studio here, in the Green Tree Garden. From 1888 the folk kitchen of the Israelite Benevolent Women's Association could operate here during the winter months. The present building was built in 1936–37 as a palace of justice (district court, tribunal and prosecutor's office). It occupied the area of the former Green Tree Garden: the garden in front of the detention centre at No. 6 and plot No. 7. The building plans were made by Tibor Hübner, the façade design by Ferenc K. Császár, architect from Budapest. Notice. formerly Elisabeth Square 9 was the Palace of Justice. The reliefs decorating the façade are probably the work of Lajos Rápolthy. - A gas and bomb-proof shelter has also been set up in the building. From 1984, in addition to the Municipal Court and Prosecutor's Office, the city council operated in the building. Since 1990, this part of the building has housed the mayor's office. Local grade listed - 7 (6-7) Erzsébet Square, Nagykanizsa, Zala County, Hungary.

Városháza. Az első emeletén van Szent István király szobra (Felállítás 2000, Csávás Csaba fafaragó, fa) Egykor Vendéglő, egykor Törvényház. Itt, az akkoriban Gabona 'pjacz' nevű tér egykori 'Sóház kert' részén hozta létre 1863-ban Neusiedler Pál vendéglős, mészáros Zöldfakert névvel nyári vendéglőjét. 1872-ben Exner Gyula pécsi fényképész a kora nyári hónapokra Nagykanizsára költözött. Munkájához itt, a Zöldfakertben építtette fel „fényirdai helyiségét”. 1888-tól itt működhetett az Izraelita Jótékony Nőegylet népkonyhája a téli hónapokban. A mai épület 1936–37-ben épült igazságügyi palotának (járásbíróság, törvényszék és ügyészség). Elfoglalta a hajdani Zöldfakert területét: a 6. szám alatt a fogda előtti kertet és a 7. számú telket is. Az épületterveket Hübner Tibor a homlokzattervet K. Császár Ferenc budapesti építész készítette. Megj. korábban a Erzsébet tér 9 volt az igazságügyi palota. A homlokzatot díszítő domborművek vélhetően Rápolthy Lajos alkotásai.
