Summary

Description Native, warm season, annual or short-lived perennial, stiffly erect herb to 60 cm tall; upper parts often metallic blue in colour. Basal leaves are pinnatisect (cut down almost to the midrib) and 10–25 cm long; segments are linear and end in a stiff, sharp point. Stem leaves are 1–6 cm long and less divided. Grows inland in damp clayey or sandy soils of open woodland and disturbed roadside sites and pastures.
