Marktplatz mit Pumpe von 1753

Die Fachwerkhäuser, die den dreieckigen Markt einfassen, stammen aus dem 17. und 18. Jahrhundert.
Die den Platz überspannende Platane wurde 1887 gepflanzt.
Im Pflaster ist das Wappen der Ortsgemeinde Erpel eingelegt.
Ein 1244 erstmals erwähnter Markt wird 1388 vom Kölner Domkapitel bestätigt. 1420 gibt es einen Wochenmarkt mit eigenem Maß und Gewicht. Marktort war damals noch der Kirchplatz.
Wichtiger Handelsartikel war der noch im 20. Jh. angebaute Wein.
