| Description |
This is located on the mountain of Montserrat in Catalonia, Spain and is named after St John the Baptist. The building (or one nearby) dates from approximately 1500 and was a hermitage for monks of the nearby Benedictine monastery for hundreds of years. The mountain is a place of pilgrimage and is the most holy place in all of Catalonia. Much of the mountain is accessible to climbers and parts, such as here, can be visited by most visitors by means of a well-kept path. |
