[edit]
Description
English: Chapel of Santa Eulalia in the Barrio de Santa María of Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia, Castile and León). Old Parish Church of the medieval outback of the same name that the building is dedicated. It was declared A historic-artistic monument in 1966. It is one of the jewels of the Romanesque in province of Palencia. Whole, harmonic and small shapes and defines the Romanesque palentine North mountain. Its plant consists of a single nave closed in semicircular apse. Its cover closes to the North, not usual in these buildings since the coldest wind coming from that direction. One of the Windows retains a capital known as Adam and Eve and the tree of paradise, the most beautiful and naturalist. Inside, the nave, the presbytery and apse are gradually by projecting a special perspective on the set. The apse is closed with a vault of shell and the rest with a barrel vault. Still remains of mural paintings can be seen Romanesque (s. XIII), which is sight was a colorist Pantocrator accompanied by tetramorfos symbols. Also in the South of the presbytery wall is part of an apostolate and scenes of heaven and hell, along with some others represent multiple characters.
