| Description |
English: Eridge station, 1992. View SE, towards Lewes via Uckfield and Eastbourne via Hailsham and Polegate: ex-LB&SCR lines from London via Oxted and from Tunbridge Wells West. The line to Hailsham was closed 14/6/65, to Polegate 9/9/68; Uckfield - Lewes was closed 24/2/69, leaving only the services from London via Oxted to Uckfield. The line from Tunbridge Wells West via Groombridge hadbeen closed 8/7/85. However, the heritage Spa Valley Railway was established at Tunbridge Wells West and reopened from there in stages from 12/96 in stages, to Groombridge in 8/97, Birchden Junction in 2005 and on to Eridge from 25/3/11. |
