Hier stand bis 1900 das Haus „Zum Tannenberge
und zum Grünen Löwen“, in dem
Otto von Bismarck
während der Tagung des Unionsparlamentes in Erfurt
vom 19. März bis zum 29. April 1850 wohnte.
Der Neubau des „Bismarck-Hauses“ erhielt 1904 eine
Bismarck-Bronze-Plastik, die 1945 entfernt wurde.
Bei der Restaurierung des Hauses wurde 2004
auf Initiative des Bismarckturm-Vereins Erfurt
und des Hauseigentümers Stefan Geier
eine Nachbildung dieser Statue Otto von Bismarcks
wieder aufgestellt.
