1912 Мрамор подцвеченный В. 35,5

Эту скульптуру удалось приобрести в сокровищницу русского искусства благодаря средствам, выделенным Министерством культуры. Когда художник обращался к античной тематике, он любил работать не в дереве, а в камне - в том материале, в котором творили древние эллины. Изображение утренней зари было создано автором в Греции под влиянием раннего периода развития античного искусства - архаики. Вторя строкам гомеровской «Илиады»: «Вышла из мрака младая...», Коненков воплощает греческую богиню Эос с улыбкой юной «коры». Она озаряет пробуждающееся после ночного сна лицо, наполняя окружающее пространство светом и радостью
