Español: El nombre de la laguna Alalay proviene del vocablo quechua que significa “frío”, ello debido a que esta zona presenta temperaturas más frías que el resto de la ciudad. Tiene en su entorno una plataforma vehicular denominada “circuito Bolivia” que permite el recorrido vehicular alrededor de este atractivo. Así mismo, posee una franja peatonal para bicicletas que forma parte de la ciclovía que llega a tener un total aproximado de 15 Km. de recorrido.
La fauna que se encuentra en la laguna Alalay es muy variada, va desde invertebrados hasta mamíferos. Hasta ahora se han registrado cinco especies de peces: dos platinchos como especies nativas, la gambusia, carpa y el pejerrey como especie introducida. A su vez, existen dos especies de anfibios, sapo, rana y dos especies de reptiles. Las aves, sin duda alguna, constituyen uno de los recursos más atractivos que tiene esta laguna, no sólo por el valor estético, sino porque constituye el valor genético histórico que tiene este valle. En este sentido se han registrado más de 136 especies de aves, tanto de tierras altas como de tierras bajas. |
