A la entrada de Tamajon se encuentra la iglesia romanica pero reformada casi totalmente en el siglo XVI dedicada a la Asunción de Nuestra Señora En el siglo XII pertenecía al Común de la Villa y Tierra de Atienza y durante el siglo XV a la familia de los Mendoza Al modesto templo románico de una sola nave se le fueron haciendo modificaciones y ampliaciones, hasta no ser reconocible y convertirse en una iglesia de tres naves y notables proporciones El material utilizado para su construcción es fundamentalmente la mampostería El acceso al templo se efectúa por el pórtico de la fachada sur a través de la galería porticada. Existía otro acceso en la fachada de poniente, actualmente cegado. |
