Llandybie's name is derived from St Tybie, said to be one of many daughters of Brychan Brycheiniog, a legendary 5th century king of Brycheiniog (modern-day Breconshire). This church is reputed to be sited on the spot where Tybie was killed by Saxon raiders. |
