After all that, I suppose we should actually talk about what we're seeing in the pictures! This store is quite nice looking, with the decorative concrete block walls and the huge glass vestibule in the center. The glass vestibule actually fooled me into thinking this was a Fred Meyer-built store for a while, since it's one of their common design elements, but the unpainted block walls are certainly not a Fred Meyer thing. (I suppose they could have added the vestibule on, but I highly doubt it, since that seems quite expensive and the rest of the remodel seems rather cheap.) The Fred Meyer Marketplace logo that this store has (there are a few variants out there, though this seems to be the most common) just screams 90s, what with the angled Fred Meyer text (their normal logo is just plain red text), angled, cursive, neon Marketplace text, and a checkerboard diamond background! |
