Summary
[edit]DescriptionEntrance, Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York - 20220206.jpg |
English: A frigid scene in Corning, New York on a February 2022 visit to the Museum of Glass. Seen here is the main visitor entrance area, which comprises elements of two separate renovations and expansions of the facilities. The unusually shaped buildings to the right, with walls of glossy metal, are part of the museum's first phase of expansion, designed by architect Gunnar Birkerts and inaugurated in 1980. The entrance itself, and the Visitor Center behind it, was completed in 2001 to a design by the firm of Smith-Miller + Hawkinson. |
