Description
Español: Museo de Bellas Artes de Granada. Grupo escultórico de Entierro de Cristo, talla en madera dorada y policromada por Jacopo Torni (1520-1525), con policromía de Alonso de Salamanca. Contratado por María Manrique de Figueroa y Mendoza, duquesa de Sessa, para el panteón de su marido, Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba (†1515). La atribución de la autoría, parte del prestigioso Manuel Gómez-Moreno Martínez. La escultura fue proyectada para una ubicación elevada, lo que influye en la composición y perspectiva del espectador, como se entiende que Cristo muerto gire la cabeza hacia el observador y los personajes alcancen 195 cm de altura. Procede de la iglesia del Real Monasterio de San Jerónimo (Granada)
