Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Enterprise passengers for Dublin disembarking at Drogheda The collapse of the Broadmeadow Viaduct, north of Malahide, just after two commuter trains had passed over it around 1800hrs on Friday 21st August, 2009 led to need to transfer daily thousands of passengers by road between Drogheda Station and Dublin Connolly (30 minutes distance away by fast train). These passengers making their way to the buses from the 10.30 ex-Belfast Enterprise were photographed the following morning. Already on the platform, were another thousand or so passengers which had been transferred north from Dublin by the same buses waiting to board the train returning to Belfast. The transfer went smoothly, eased along with a lot of Northern humour and banter. Iarnród Éireann (the republic's nationalised railway company) apologised for the inconvenience and said that the problem was unlikely to be resolved for "several weeks".
