English: Woman's dress and shoulder cape evening ensemble comprising evening gown and light evening bolero. dress of black silk chiffon and black silk lace with floating panels of fine black chiffon; the bolero of fine black chiffon 'underdress in heavy black crepe or early rayon, machine sewn seams, hand finished cut on the straight, side (left) opening, domes 17 cm, overdress crepe-de-chine and lace (cotton lined with tulle. Upper edge of lace has flesh coloured lining to give the effect of a lower cleavage line. Lace is cut on the straight crepe-de-chine is mostly on the cross to give a mermaid look to the dress which alters the silhouette down the side seams. See drawings in box' VJB, Nov 1986 “BLACK LACE AND chiffon (sic) DRESS labelled ‘Chanel’ with chiffon (sic) draped jacket-cape very short. Dress with panels of cotton m.m. (machine made) lace – low back side fastening – cut to cling to the figure. Very full at hem line – full under slip.” |
