His threeprints of the Madonna, showing the Virgin throned andsurrounded by saints, are quite like Bellini in their typeand in the peaceful mildness of the Virgins expression ;and a similar resemblance marks his large Baptism ofChrist (fig. 40). Evidences of more hasty execution appearin The Calumny of Apelles ; while Judith with the Headof Holofernes ranks in every respect as Mocettos finestwork. Nearest to Mocetto as an engraver stands GiulioCampagnola of Padua (born about 1482, died after 15 13),who belongs entirely to the School of Bellini and isstrongly influenced by Giorgione. Some fourteen plates byGiulio Campagnola are now known, among them some thatshow most finished drawing, and also a very careful andindividual technical treatment.
