Description
English: An English brass six-pounder replica cannon in front of Fort Pitt Museum. In the 18th century, out of forty cannons in Fort Pitt — ten were brass six-pounders. The barrel was manufactured in Meadville at U.S. Bronze. The wagon wheels were made by Amish craftsmen from Ohio. The ironwork was made in Ambridge by Jym Hoffman. The polishing, engraving and final assembling was completed by Brad and Drew Mooney of Heritage Reconstruction at Fort Ligonier in the Spring of 2013. The cannon was fired on June 6, 2013.
