Rückseite: + IHC AVTEM TRANSIENS PER MEDIV ILLORVM IBAT [Jesus Christus autem transiens per medium illorvm ibat, Lukas 4,30]. C im Zentrum eines verzierten Kreuzes im Achtpass, in den Winkeln je ein Leopard unter Krone.

Kommentar: Die 1344 eingeführten Noble sind die größten und schwersten Goldmünzen des Mittelalters. Ihr Münzbild mit dem im Schiff stehenden König geht auf den 1340 von den Engländern gegen die Franzosen erfochtenen Sieg in der Seeschlacht von Sluis (bei Brügge) am 24. Juni 1340 zurück. Durch die Art der Titulatur des Königs in der Umschrift lassen sich die Emissionen genauer datieren.
