Summary

[edit]
Description
English: As a freelance inventor Wilhelm Schmidt (1858-1924) developed an explosion-proof steam engine, which was not approved by the supervisory authority. At the turn of the 1800-century, however, the superheated steam locomotive developed by him in Prussia as well as in the USA was successful, in addition to other inventions; he received 1400 patents and was awarded an honorary doctorate.
