Description

Endcliffe Hall, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It was designed by Flockton and Abbot for Sir John Brown (1816-1896), and built 1863-1865. The high, decorative roof of the tower is now missing.

Stone carving: The reclining stone figures of Labour and Art over the pediment at the south-facing front are by John Woody Papworth (1820-1870). The three Seasons statues of children above the porch are by Edward William Wyon (1811-1885). All other carving is by Mower and Ingle of Leeds.
