Sacy, fromthe Persian mythology, and the occur-rence of this figure upon coins, makesit a spiritual being, called Farouher,meaning the principle of sensation. Itresembles, though not in the beetleform of the body, the hieroglyphcalled by Kirchur Anima Mundi.^ Cornices.—Very superb ones appearin the portals. Terraces, or esplanades, ascended bystaircases, and basement stories, herefirst appear.
