Enamelled umbonate brooch
Description
English: Roman brooch; Cast copper alloy umbonate disc brooch with enamelled decoration, dated to the 2nd century. The brooch is a humped, circular disc with the remains of an outer plate around the disc. The fitting for the pin and the start of the catchplate are still present, although the pin itself is missing. The brooch is decorated with two concentric rings of little triangles pointing in towards the centre of the disc. The outer ring is inlaid with dark blue enamel and the inner ring has traces of red enamel.

Length 22.76mm, width 19.37mm, thickness (body) 6.17mm, thickness (with catchplate) 9.52mm, weight 4.36g
