arances made a perfect record for any member. In view of the extra rehearsals called on short notice, therecords of perfect attendance are remarkable. Miss Lindstrom,Miss Libert, Mrs. Estes, Miss Waite, Miss Stoddard, Miss Bur-ton and Miss McCoubrey, and Messrs. Weale, Boynton, Brooksand Johnston were present at every rehearsal and concert of theseason. Miss Cleary, Mrs. Fleming, Miss Hannett, Miss Nilson,Mrs. Wilton, Mrs. Winsor, Mrs. Tubman and Messrs. Lindberg,Guild, Holmes and Martin were absent but once. Mrs. Estes hasnot been absent for nearly 20 years, and several members whojoined the chorus after the first rehearsal had a perfect record ofattendance after joining the chorus. At the close of the season the chorus included 141 sopranos,107 altos, 73 tenors and 106 basses. I had the pleasure of entertaining the members of the chorusat the Repertory Theatre on the evening of February 1. TheBoard of Government accepted my invitation, and 270 memberswere present at the performance.

EMIL MOLLEXHAUER Conductor Handel and HavdnSodetv. 1899-1927 MAY 23 1927 TO MAY 28 I928 135 To make a musical club financially successful is no easy taskin these days of radios and victrolas, when people can listen toconcerts without leaving their homes and without cost. Perhapsthe Society would have prospered more under another President.I have held the office longer than any of my predecessors. Sev-eral times I have asked you to allow me to retire, and although Iwould be glad to be relieved of the work, I assure you that I havefound much happiness in my association with you. I appreciatedeeply the friendships I have formed and the great honor youhave conferred upon me in electing me as your President at thir-teen consecutive annual meetings. I thank you! 3n iUrmorg nf Smtl Mclltnl\nntx Words Spoken at His Funeral December 12, 1927By Courtenay Guild What is this that breaks my singing,Breaks the power of my voice so clear,Dooms to silence my melody? It once did flow like the river.Onc
