| Description | A suspension bridge in the Emerald Trail. Although there is nothing here, barring the trail, a far cry from our 2002 trip when this was part of the Amazing Amazon exhibit, it in fact provided a welcome respite from the surging and noisy crowds of mainland tourists outside and the cacophony of speech, and eclectic mix of electronic music from the game arcades and merry go round carousels. All one could here was recorded bird tweets and bird calls. In this particular spot, a pleasant waterfall provides much soothing sounds of running water with the suspension bridge seen beyond it, in the background. I was actually happy to stand here for a few moments. It was unusually quiet, in the midst of the thronging crowds outside. HK, Jan/ Feb. 2012 |
