Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Emblem on Little Bloxwich Bridge I was a little curious about this emblem. At the top this appears to show the Warwickshire 'Bear and Ragged Staff' and at the bottom the Staffordshire 'Knot'.

I would have thought that this bridge 264542over the canal is well within Staffordshire.

http://www.wolverhamptonuk.co.uk/historydetail.php?id=21462&f=Wolverhampton gives the following explanation 'In 1338 Sir Thomas le Rous sold his share of the manor of Walshale to Sir Ralph Bassett. His son married Joanna, daughter of Thomas Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. He died childless and his manor passed to the Warwick family, whose emblem - the Bear and Ragged Staff - was adopted by Walsall Borough as its Coat of Arms.'
