Summary

[edit]
Description

One of a pair of 17th century baroque angels were originally part of the organ in Ely Cathedral. They were recently discovered in the loft of the demolished parish hall of St Matthew’s, Cambridge. The angels have been restored and erected in the south transept of the cathedral.

They are dedicated in memory of Thomas Cocke (1949-2008), architectural historian and a member of the cathedral's fabric advisory committee.
