Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This building on Wenatchee Avenue was designed in 1905 by Seattle architects Josenhans & Allan for the Ellis-Forde Co. Known as the Big Store, run by George Ellis, Jr. it was Wenatchee's leading department store in the early 20th century with branch stores in Cashmere, Loomis and Chelan the latter two run by partner James Forde and Vice-President John Isenhart, respectively. In later years it was occupied by office supply store David Rodstal, Inc. but is now the Mercantile, a collaborative work space.
