| Description |
English: "Learning About Elephants" is one of the many learning stations on the second floor balcony overlooking the "Fényköv Elephant" in the rotunda of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C., USA.
Elephants are an endangered species due to hunting and loss of habitat, and teaching the public about these land mammals is an important way to build support for their conservation. A stuffed elephant is on display in the rotunda below. The "learning stations" were added in the mid-2000s as a way of doing more to help the public learn about elephants and their habitat. |
