| Description |
English: Elephant & Castle Peckforton The statue stands on Stone House Lane in the village. A masterpiece of craftsmanship from a bygone era, the castle and the elephant which date from c.1859 were each carved from separate single blocks of stone by a local mason called Watson, who was also employed on the construction of nearby Peckforton Castle. |
