Description |
Elena Chreptowicz belonged to a Polish-Lithuanian noble family with vast estates in Belarus. Her husband, Vladimir Pavlovich Titov (1807–1891) was a writer – publishing under the pen name “Tit Kosmokratov” – and Russian ambassador to Istanbul and Stuttgart. Her brother was the son-in-law of Karl von Nesselrode, Foreign Minister under three Russian Czars. The Titoffs spent the year 1855 in Vienna, when Vladimir Titoff took part in the Vienna Conference. |
