Thebattery comprises 112 Plante type cells, having a capacity of300 ampere-hours; General Electric type M control with busconnections for supplying current to a second car, and West-inghouse automatic air brakes. The cooling and heating sys-tem consists of an electrically driven centrifugal pump whichcirculates the jacket cooling water through either the radiatorson the roof or through the heating pipes in the passenger com-partment. The engine end trucks are the Brill 27 E-3 type tocarry 73,000 pounds, and the trailer trucks are the Brill 27 E-2type to carry 42,000 pounds loading. The special equipmentincludes Janney automatic couplers, Xichols-Lintern sandersand Adams & Westlake baggage racks. The interior of the body is divided into an engine room,13 feet long, and two compartments, smoker and parlor. Anobservation platform at the rear will conveniently seat fivepassengers. The operation of the car is practicallythe same as an interurban trolley car, but, unlike the trolleycar, it produces its own current and is therefore independentof trolley wire and power house.
