INTERIOR VIEW OF INTERURBAN CAR WITHOUT BULKHEADS which were built by the Cincinnati Car Company, possessseveral novelties in detail in addition to those alreadyoutlined. The general dimensions are as shown in theaccompanying table. Inside of the car body all panels are insulated withcork covered with linoleum. Front and rear dashes havecork insulation only, with interior paneling of steel toform window pockets. The roof is steel riveted to theone piece T-iron carlines which also form the side posts.This surface which is finished white forms the insidefinish of the car. The outside of the steel roof is insu-lated with 1-in. cork, covered with 6-ounce duck. Twothicknesses of 13/16-in. yellow pine, covered with ^-in.Battleship linoleum make up the floor. FOUR-CAR TRAIN FOR INTERURBAN SERVICE REQUIRING RAPID-LOADING FACILITIES Februaey 10, 1917) ELECTRIC RAILWAY JOURNAL 257 from an opening in the bottom of the vestibule, is in-stalled, and the interior lighting system comprises onecircuit of six 94-watt Mazda lamps arranged with aselector switch. The seats, which were designed to the railway com-panys specifications and manufactured by the Hale &Kilburn Company, are of the non-reversible type, withremovable backs and Pantasote upholstering. Other specialties are combination ventilating andlighting fixtures, illuminated roller signs, Ohmer regis-ters, combination arc and incandescent headlights, Pea-cock staffless brakes, Root air-operated snow scrapers,Eclipse Frisco-type fenders, and Westinghouse 6-Tsignal switches for train operation.
