Each turbine is provided with a 125-kw, 250-voltexciter mounted on an extension of the main shaft. Each ex-citer has sufficient capacity to excite at least two turbines underany probable conditions of overload. In addition to the automatic oiling system of the turbo-gen-erators there is an auxiliary oiling system with an independentsteam pump, gravity tank, Turner oil filter and oil stations atwhich oil cans may be filled. SURFACE CONDENSERS Two Henry R. Worthington surface condenser units are con-nected to the underside of each turbine and are designed tomaintain 28 in. of vacuum, referred to barometer at 30 in.Each condenser has 12,000 sq. ft. of cooling surface. The tubesare not tinned. Should the need of tinned tubes arise, theywill be installed
