Description
English: During the 79th commemoration of Operation Market Garden, members of the 101st Airborne Division attend a lecture at Elde College located near the battles during Market Garden during WWII on September 13, 2023. The guest speaker was Denis van den Brink the author of Heroes of Carentan. Denis van den Brink is also Carentan’s, France communication officer and has vast knowledge of the battles during D-Day in WWII. During the lecture, members of the 101st along with students from the the college enhanced their shared history and learn more about the brave Soldiers who stood up to the challenges of their day and with valor, grit, and audacity fought to restore freedom and liberty in Europe. The Soldiers and students know the importance of being together during these times to allows them to continue sharing the stories of the brave Soldiers and know that freedom has a price and should never be taken for granted.
