Summary
[edit]DescriptionElbe estuary (elbe-estuary).jpg |
English: The Elbe River estuary is one of the most beautiful areas in Northern Germany. It features multiple steadily moving channels where large amounts of sediment accumulate each year due to river discharge and tidal oscillations. Climate change could accelerate this phenomenon, causing side effects in the port of Hamburg through sea level rise. This image, acquired by a Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite on 17 April, shows the estuary during a low tide moment. The Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites, with their Multi-Spectral Instruments, delivers useful information about water and land pollution. |
