English: Lt. Gen. Joe Anderson (right), commanding general for ISAF Joint Command and the U.S. Army XVIII Airborne Corps, receives the El Salvador national colors from Col. Jorge Miranda (left), the senior national representative for the El Salvador contingent, during a ceremony officially retiring the El Salvador colors near Kabul, Afghanistan, May 11. The ceremony marked the conclusion of the El Salvador contribution to the ISAF mission and gave Lt. Gen. Anderson an opportunity to thank them for their efforts and sacrifice. El Salvador contributed 130 service members from across the El Salvadoran Army, Air Force and Navy to the ISAF mission in Afghanistan between August 2011 and May 2014. They were involved in multiple organizations and activities that included Mi-17 Aerial Advisers Team and Police Advisers Team, while occupying key staff officer positions across the country.
