En ella en otraos detalles destaca una gran serpiente

Según dicen, en esta dehesade Villacabras, hubo una extraordinaria culebra o serpiente, hace muchos años

Algunos me han verificado que la han visto, como fue Pedro Ruiz de Zafra, este mozo afirma que vio, por encima de un gran marojal de hojas para el ganado, lo que parecía los lomos de unos puercos que estuviesen juntos, pero era aquella serpiente que estaba enroscada, al ir a ver lo que era, se acercó, pero al llegar allí se desenroscó provocando un gran estruendo en los marojos, esta, al levantar la cabeza, era tan grande como la de un hombre, entonces al verla se espantó y se fue huyendo . (leyenda)
