Description
English: Bust of Elísio Fernandes de Araújo in D. Diogo de Sousa School in Braga, Portugal.
Português: Monsenhor Elísio Fernandes de Araújo (Prado (S. Miguel), Vila Verde, 24 de Setembro de 1923-Pico (S. Cristóvão), 9 de Setembro de 1996).

Entrou no Seminário de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, em Braga, aos 11 anos.

Completou os estudos do Curso Complementar no Colégio de S. João de Deus, no Porto.

Regressou a Braga e fez o Curso Teológico no Seminário Conciliar de S. Pedro e S. Paulo.

Recebeu a ordenação sacerdotal em 22 de Dezembro de 1946.

Foi nomeado pároco da freguesia de Venade, Caminha, e professor e Director Adjunto do Externato de Santa Rita, em 30 de Junho de 1947.

Em 20 de Agosto de 1951, iniciou a sua actividade no Colégio Dom Diogo de Sousa, em Braga.

Deu início à construção do novo edifício do Colégio, em 1955.

Em 28 de Fevereiro de 1982, foi nomeado Monsenhor pelo Papa João Paulo II.

Aposentou-se, em 8 de Agosto de 1991, e retirou-se para a sua casa de Pico (S. Cristóvão), no concelho de Vila Verde.

Em 1994, foi agraciado com a medalha de mérito municipal – Grau Prata da cidade de Braga.

Portugal

Portuguese copyright law allows the use of works permanently installed at public locations. The law explicitly mentions buildings and sculptures as examples of such works (§75(2)q). "Use" includes taking a photograph of such a work and publishing it (§68). However, according to the Berne three-step test, the allowed uses must not conflict with a normal exploitation of the work, nor unreasonably prejudice the legitimate interests of the rights holder (§75(4)).

It is also required to identify name of the author, with no exceptions ("wherever possible", as per §76(a)).
