Nach dem Durchlauf des Kelheimer Stadtgebietes wird der Alte Kanal in Donau eingeleitet. Zum Hochwasserschutz wurde ein Schott eingebaut, das von kleinen Booten und Kähnen passiert werden kann. Ob sich die Einleitung noch in etwa im originalen Zustand befindet, kann nicht beantwortet werden.
