Description
Deutsch: Text: "Eine künstliche Insel // Die Insel Scharhörn in der Nordsee wird durch Festhalten des Flugsandes von Mitgliedern des Freiwilligen Arbeitsdienstes errichtet. Vor fünf Jahren war hier noch Meer, heute wächst bereits Hafer, und von Jahr zu Jahr wird die Insel höher. Sie ist auf Sandbänken errichtet, die bei Ebbe auftauchen und bei der Flut wieder verschwinden. Zur Verwendung kommt altes Strandgut; man läßt es mit Flugsand zuwehen bis mehrere Schichten aufeinander liegen, die dann bebaut werden. Von der Heilkraft derartiger, weit in die See hinausgeschobener Aufenthaltsorte verspricht man sich die besten Erfolge fiir nervenkranke Städter."
